Deborah Joys   BA(Hons)

  
     Deborah lives in, Brentwood in Essex.
   Deborah has always painted and sculpted. She never  took it seriously until, after years working in dismal offices, she graduated with a BA Hons in 1999.

 

   Her work is predominantly abstract and has raised, painted areas to make it tactile. She believes that touch is as integral as sight when looking at paintings.

 

    She says that she loves colour and that her current work is an ongoing exploration of movement and emotions in humans.

  Whilst abstract may not appeal to everyone there has always been a thought process behind every piece that she has produced and she tries to relay this as much as possible.

Research was undertaken to make the piece as personal as possible for the family. It is a large piece 112cm by 112

Graced

Is currently on exhibition at an Essex art gallery and is featured in Essex County Journal September issue

Looks at humans dancing and again is currently on display at "Passfield Gallery" in Chelmsford

   Deborah notes that;

"What I really want to get across is that I love art and believe that it should be enjoyed by all, not just an elite few. I don`t like people feeling intimidated by galleries or artists and if I can dispel any pretentiousness in art then that`s a good thing!
